The first-floor rebuild of this Maryland home was a captivating dance between the homeowner's desire for serenity and the affinity for color and texture (and eccentric accessories) of designer Jennifer Walter of Folding Chair Design. The result is a stunning blend of elegance and modernity, where the marble floor casts reflections and the dark, matte geometric stair spindles create a striking contrast.
All about shapes
The living room is a smorgasbord of shapes, all warranting attention and having interesting conversations with the light. The curves of the undulating mirror and the sofa are balanced by the modern linear woodwork feature wall and tiered table (who looks great with a shadow). The more traditional coffered ceiling means that there are no boring surfaces in this room.
